This is a sterling silver antique replica of a rare St. Michael the Archangel medallion that was made in France and signed by artists Penin & Poncet. Saint Michael the Archangel is a powerful spiritual warrior, intercessor, and protector against the forces of Satan.
The front has the Latin text "S. Michael Archang O.P.N." (Ora Pro Nobis meaning Pray for Us). The image of Mont St Michel is on the reverse with the text "Souvenir du Mont St Michel". Mont St Michel is an island in France with a sanctuary devoted to St Michel. I am blessed to own this original and be able to share with you at a reasonable price. I have a great devotion to St Michael with a special wonderful collection of St Michael medallions.
The Prayer to St Michael (shown in photos) is included in the gift box.
This medallion is a bit under 3/4" and is available by itself (with a ring), on an oxidized 1.2mm sterling silver spiga chain or on a stainless steel chain.
This fine replica piece is cast in .925 sterling silver using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. The oxidation process eliminates the need to polish this piece. This medal is not stamped 925 or sterling because it is identical to the original antique. It will test as .925 sterling silver.
