Antique Gold Latin St Martin of Tours Medallion Necklace, French Antique Replica, Sanctus Martinus Turonensis Bishop of Tours, by Penin Lyon
$34.00
Gorgeous antique gold, antique replica, of a rare St. Martin of Tours medal that was made in France with words in Latin by artists Penin and Lyon. I am blessed to have this mint condition original in my collection and be able to share this replica with you.
Saint Martin of Tours is also called "Martin the Merciful" and was the bishop of Tours. In Latin, his name is "Sanctus Martinus Turonensis". On the front of the medal is S. Martine Ora Pro Nob.(is) which is Latin for "St Martin Pray for Us". He is the patron saint of soldiers, alcoholics, reformed alcoholics, poverty, equestrians and horses. His feast day of November 11 is on the backside of the medal. The backside ring of the medal is "St Martin the Patron of Galilee".
The just under 1 inch diameter medal dangles on a 3.65mm rolo chain with a lobster clasp closure.
This fine replica piece is cast in solid gold bronze using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. The oxidation finishing process prevents tarnishing from contact with air. Excessive skin oils may darken the backside of the medal. It is also best to not wear gold bronze in water. A polishing cloth is included so the medal can be polished to the original appearance. You would not damage the medal by contact with water since it is solid gold bronze (not a plating), but it may darken and need additional polishing. The rolo chain is a high quality antique gold plate.

Thank you for visiting my Holy Moments Etsy Shop! This has been my personal shopping account on Etsy for years. I recently decided to open an Etsy shop and display a selection of products from my established Holy Moments on-line and show company (HolyMoments.com).
The artisan jewelry and rosaries are unique to Holy Moments. Many pieces are only a few of a kind due to limited availability of certain gemstones or hand cast items. New, exciting products are always being added to both the Etsy shop and company website.
A portion of profits are donated to the Cancer Research Institute in New York, a leader in immunotherapy research. Please read my shop story for more.
