This is a very special antique gold, antique replica, of a 2-sided St Colette of Corbie and St Francis of Assisi medallion. This beautifully detailed and rare piece is designed and signed by the French artists Adolph Penin and Karo. Saint Colette of Corbie is a wonderful patron saint of fertility and expectant mothers. I am blessed to have this original piece in my collection and be able to share this replica with you. Saint Colette was a follower of St Francis of Assisi and also had a great love of animals. The text is Latin "Sancta Coleta" meaning Holy Colette. Details on the St Colette side include several birds in the lower left corner which is commonly associated with St Colette of Corbie. The St Francis of Assisi side has a bit of wear.

St Colette was a miracle baby herself born in 1381 in France as she was an answer to her 60 year old childless mother's incessant prayers. Saint Colette has documented miracles related to babies and fertility such as praying a stillborn baby back to life. She is a Franciscan and reformed the Order of the Poor Clares.

If you would like "The Prayer to Saint Colette of Corbie for Fertility" (shown in photos) included with your order, please select that option in the drop down box.

This small medal is between 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch round and dangles on an 18" antique gold satellite chain. If you would prefer a different length chain, please contact me. This beaded satellite chain is only available as 18" length, but I do have other antique gold chains. This medallion would also work well as a bracelet charm since it is 2-sided and small.

This fine replica piece is cast in solid gold bronze using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. The oxidation finishing process prevents tarnishing from contact with air. Excessive skin oils may darken the backside of the medal. It is also best to not wear gold bronze in water. A polishing cloth is included so the medal can be polished to the original appearance. You would not damage the medal by contact with water since it is solid gold bronze (not a plating), but it may darken thus need additional polishing.

Thank you for visiting my Holy Moments Etsy Shop!  This has been my personal shopping account on Etsy for years.  I recently decided to open an Etsy shop and display a selection of products from my established Holy Moments on-line and show company (HolyMoments.com).

The artisan jewelry and rosaries are unique to Holy Moments.  Many pieces are only a few of a kind due to limited availability of certain gemstones or hand cast items.  New, exciting products are always being added to both the Etsy shop and company website.
