This is a sterling silver antique replica of a very rare Assumption of Mary medal from France. I am blessed to have this original in my collection and be able to share with you. The photographs do not capture the true beauty of this piece of art.
Amazing depth and details! The oxidation and antiquing process highlights the gorgeous details. If you rub your fingers over the medal, Our Lady's face and body are very pronounced.
The 3.1mm textured sterling silver cable chain can be fastened shorter anywhere along the chain. The medal is 1 inch round. A sterling silver swiveling lobster clasp closure finishes the piece. Please contact me if you would prefer a different length chain.
This fine replica is cast in .925 sterling silver using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. The oxidation (antiquing) finishing process makes this very low maintenance. There is not a 925 or sterling stamp because this replica is identical to the original antique. This medal will test as .925 sterling silver.
