The Latin words around the edge mean "From the root of Jesse". Around St. Anne's head is "Holy Anna Pray for Us (Ora Pro Nobis)".
This is a replica of a highly collectible, circa 1900, medallion signed by Louis-Victor Tricard, a renowned French engraver and medallist. I am blessed to have this original in my collection and be able to share it with you at a reasonable price. The detail on this particular piece is just gorgeous!
Saint Anne is the grandmother of Jesus and mother of Mary. She is most well known as the patron saint of grandmothers, but is also the patron saint of unmarried women, housewives, women in labor, childless people, equestrians, lacemakers, miners, the poor, and seamstresses.
This piece dangles on an oxidized 1mm wheat (spiga) sterling silver chain with a lobster clasp closure. Please message me if you would prefer a different length chain.
The medal is approximately 5/8 inch round.
This fine replica piece is cast in .925 sterling silver using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. The oxidation finishing process makes this non-maintenance. This medal is not stamped 925 or sterling because it is identical to the original antique. It will test as .925 sterling silver.
This Tricard St Anne medal is available in antiqued .925 sterling silver, bronze, shiny gold bronze and antiqued gold bronze. This link shows the various finishes. https://www.etsy.com/shop/HolyMomentsDotCom?search_query=Tricard+St+Anne
A Holy Moments® Artisan piece.
Thank you for visiting my Holy Moments Etsy Shop! This has been my personal shopping account on Etsy for years. I recently decided to open an Etsy shop and display a selection of products from my established Holy Moments on-line and show company (HolyMoments.com).
The artisan jewelry and rosaries are unique to Holy Moments. Many pieces are only a few of a kind due to limited availability of certain gemstones or hand cast items. New, exciting products are always being added to both the Etsy shop and company website.
A portion of profits are donated to the Cancer Research Institute in New York, a leader in immunotherapy research. Please read my shop story for more.
