Gorgeous antique gold, antique replica, of a Mother Mary and Baby Jesus pendant by the French artist Elie Pellegrin. This piece is on the smaller side for Elie Pellegrin designs (almost 1 inch), and has a similar front design to a larger round piece. This is an unsigned solid gold bronze piece that has an antiqued finish. I am blessed to have this original in my collection and be able to share this replica with you.
Mother Mary, Baby Jesus, the Fleur de Lis and the dots are all raised to show better detail. There is also a texture to the middle area of the surface which all adds incredible beauty to this piece!
The 7/8 inch medal may be purchased separately or dangling on a 3.65mm rolo chain necklace with a lobster clasp closure. The bail (or loop to hang on a chain) is fixed and attached to this piece.
This fine replica piece is cast in solid gold bronze using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. The oxidation finishing process prevents tarnishing from contact with air. Excessive skin oils may darken the backside of the medal. It is also best to not wear gold bronze in water. A polishing cloth is included so the medal can be polished to the original appearance. You would not damage the medal by contact with water since it is solid gold bronze (not a plating), but it may darken and need additional polishing.
