St Gerard Majella & St Colette of Corbie Sterling Silver Cluster Necklace, Patron Saints of Fertility + Expectant Mothers, Antique Replicas
$72.00
These are very special sterling silver antique replica medallions of St Colette of Corbie and St Gerard Majella. Both saints intercede on behalf of women seeking fertility and expectant women. This listing is for a cluster pendant necklace with these two saint medallions (or for the 2 medallions only, with rings to attach to your own chain). This listing discounts the 2 medallions by 10% from the individual prices when purchasing as a set. I am blessed to have these original pieces from France in my collection and be able to share these replicas with you.
This beautifully detailed and rare St Colette piece is designed and signed by the French artists Adolph Penin and Karo. Saint Colette was a follower of St Francis of Assisi and also had a great love of animals. The text is Latin "Sancta Coleta" meaning Holy Colette. Details on the St Colette side include several birds in the lower left corner which is commonly associated with St Colette of Corbie. The St Francis of Assisi side has a bit of wear.
St Colette was a miracle baby herself born in 1381 in France as she was an answer to her 60 year old childless mother's incessant prayers. Saint Colette has documented miracles related to babies and fertility such as praying a stillborn baby back to life. She is a Franciscan and reformed the Order of the Poor Clares.
The detailed St. Gerard Majella piece reverses to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. This medal is signed by French artist Penin. Penin is spelled backwards on the St. Gerard side of the medal. One side has the text "Saint Gerard Majella Priez PN" (pour nous) which means St. Gerard Majella Pray for Us. The other side has the text "ND (Notre Dame) du Perpetuel Secours Priez Pour Nous" which means Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pray for Us.
Saint Gerard is the patron saint of unborn children, childbirth, expectant mothers, and fertility. I can personally attest to the intercession of St. Gerard with the pregnancy of my first child. I was dialated 2 centimeters, hospitalized and expected to deliver at 30 weeks. My mother-in-law gave me a stuffed bear with a St. Gerard medal attached and his prayer card. We all prayed for St. Gerard's intercession. Doctors could not explain how my cervix closed back up and I delivered my son at 38 weeks.
Please select in the drop down box, if you would like 2 Fertility prayer cards, 2 Expectant Mother prayer cards, or no prayer cards (see the prayer cards shown in photos).
The St Colette medallion is between 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch round. The St Gerard medallion is a bit bigger and is 5/8 inch round. Both dangle on an oxidized sterling silver 1 mm wheat chain necklace, if you choose the chain option in the drop down box. This link has other sterling silver chain choices as well. You can purchase the medals from this listing and the chain from this listing below:

These fine replica pieces are cast in .925 sterling silver using the lost wax method and produced in the U.S.A. The antiquing finishing process makes these pieces very low maintenance. Sterling silver is the best option if you have allergies to metals or want to wear much of the time. These medals are not stamped 925 or sterling because they are identical to the original antiques. Both will test as .925 sterling silver.
